Valle de los Caidos

This beautiful place lies just 50 miles from the Spanish capital and has the monument that reminds us of the victory of France in Spanish civil war. Franco was a Spanish dictator who remained in power from 1936 to 1975, the year in which he died. The monument was built by POW’s  and contains pine forest,  a huge cross that can be reached using an elevator and a basilica housing the tomb of the dictator along with nearly 35000 Spanish nationals who lost their lives in the war.

Le Pedriza

The specialty of this spot lies in marvelous granite sculptures in a mountainous region. To get to this place, you need to come by car or you can choose to take a bus trip but the bus stops much earlier, forcing tourists to walk around 3-4 km.
